Surely this ought to exist?

Username: [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook
Era (if any): Classic Who (although really it could be any at all, I suppose!)
Characters/Pairings (if any): Third Doctor, UNIT (or anyone, really.)
Plot Bunny Summary: There's a Yeti on the loo in Tooting Bec
Any Other Notes: Maybe it's just me, but I can't remember seeing this in fic form anywhere as yet. Jon Pertwee's eternal example of how UNIT worked, for those who haven't heard it before. There ought to be crackfic. It seems polite for it to be Three, but as long as we find out why a giant, hairy robotic creature was sitting on the loo (and why in Tooting Bec), I am not particular which Doctor/characters. In fact, if everyone keeps finding a Yeti on the loo, it might be even funnier.

(Yes, I managed to listen to a bit of the commentary for Planet of the Spiders. There might be more.)

Can you quote Jon? Because I've never heard this!

...you know, I'd been looking for a funny throwaway line about another alien disaster that needs investigating, for the flying dogs X-UNIT fic (probably. My UNIT fics are somewhat like a plate of four-dimensional spaghetti.) I think "There's a Yeti on the loo in Tooting Bec" may just have become my go-to. There is always going to be a Yeti on the loo in Tooting Bec from now on, if I need it to be. :D

I've seen it happen, not in fic but in one of the spin-off novels, Millennial Rites.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the saying was originally "in the loos at Tooting Bec", meaning the Tube station and drawing inspiration from the Yetis roaming the Underground in their second appearance. I can't produce a source for that, though.

This is where I should post it, right?

Anyhow, my knowledge of yetis is confined to The Five Doctors and a quick Googling, but here (http://www.whofic.com/viewstory.php?sid=44030) is my effort.
