And the TARDIS lands...
It's well past time for another discussion post, and I thought I'd re-run the crossover one we had many moons ago, because time moves on and people discover ad new TV shows/books etc, and it is one of the delights of fan fiction, after all. Crossing fandoms is one thing that can only rarely be done by the sources themselves. And Doctor Who with its simple go-anywhere, anytime premise is built for the possibility more than most TV shows.
So, what crossover fanfic would you love to see? What is there not enough of, or not with the Doctor/companion you'd have gone for?
I'm with several other people I know in waiting for the first Downton Abbey/Doctor Who crossover. (Don't people realise that Violet is just waiting for her chance to fight off some aliens?)
What do you all think? (As ever, any suggestions in the comments below will be added to the ever-growing list of prompts.)

I have not found a single Doctor Who/Magic Tree House crossover. This upsets me slightly, because, well, its SO OBVIOUS. Clearly, the tree-house is at least a proto-TARDIS. So, from that, here's one: It's been years since (now teenage or adult) Jack and Annie have used the treehouse, but when they find a man in a blue box, the magic of their childhood returns and they find out much more about their past.
Also, while I'm here, I'll leave something a good friend of mine would very much like to see: The Doctor (post time-war) meets, and has to face Paradox from Yugioh. (Either that or Nyssa does, which would be less of interest to my friend, but moreso to the way this comm is classic-oriented)

I agree - I've found some things that way, too.
Are those the books by Mary Pope Osborne (I've seen them about when I used to work in libraries) or is there a TV version or something? It certainly sounds like something that would work really well.
And, please, don't ever feel you need to alter a prompt to fit the comm - whatever the active base of the comm, this is open for all eras (which, I admit, is probably crazy and impractical!) and, speaking as a mod, I'm just pleased whenever anyone leaves any prompts, or joins in discussions, no matter what Doctor/era they favour. These days most of the posts get picked up by

And, while I consider myself to be primarily a Ten!fangirl, I'm a fan of both Doctor Whos. Really, my logic there was more that the friend who's idea it was isn't even finished with s4 of New Who yet (Which kills me a bit, because she keeps talking about how she likes all of messing with time angst, and the Time War, but she hasn't even seen Waters of Mars or End of Time yet), but I thought the different angle would be interesting as well, and that it might also get some love from here. I added Nyssa to the mix there because I thought it would be interesting to see someone with a very different reaction to the whole last-of-my-kind thing in the situation of meeting someone with the very violent, time-changing reaction to it, rather than Nine and Ten who are kind of messes themselves. Plus, I love Five's mini temper tantrums whenever anyone asks to do something too risky involving time.
(And, really, only one Fivey fic? That's terrible! I love him.)

Aw, sorry, I just misread that - I was worried you didn't feel okay putting a Ten prompt down! Adding Nyssa as a bonus prompt/twist on the theme is however entirely great. And, actually, have you seen this lovely fic by
(I know! I've been a bit rubbish at doing these discussion posts lately, due to rl, but I mean to pick up again now - maybe he should have his own ideas post next. Except I was thinking of Four or Seven or Nine... Well, they'll all get one at some point!)
