Clearing out some plot bunnies I've had lying around for a while and not done anything with:

Era (if any): Second Doctor
Characters/Pairings (if any): Second Doctor, Jamie, Victoria
Plot Bunny Summary: The Doctor and Jamie must rescue Victoria from an unwelcome marriage.
Any Other Notes: This story line came to me in a dream a couple of years ago; it was set in modern-day Los Angeles, was the climax of an intricate plot arc involving Cybermen and Ice Warriors, and had Victoria fleeing through the streets in her wedding dress. But those details are strictly optional.

Era (if any): Fourth Doctor
Characters/Pairings (if any): Leela, the Brigadier
Plot Bunny Summary: She's an independent warrior woman from the future who likes to stab things. He's an old-fashioned military man from the seventies (or possibly the eighties) who likes to shoot things. Both of them like to blow things up. They fight crime.
Any Other Notes: I just really want to see these two team up, fighting crime or making fun of the Doctor or anything. I imagine they'd clash at first, but at the end of the day they'd totally be bros.

Era (if any): Anything EXCEPT Three, Four, Ten, and Eleven
Characters/Pairings (if any): Sarah Jane/any of the Doctors she DIDN'T get to travel with, particularly One, Two, Five, or Six. (Okay, she got to meet three of those in 'The Five Doctors,' but she didn't really get to know them.)
Plot Bunny Summary: Most of the Sarah Jane/Doctor She Didn't Meet fic I've seen has been with Nine, Eight, or Seven--who are awesome, and I love them. But I wonder how that relationship would work with the other Doctors?
Any Other Notes: I'd be particularly interested in Five/Sarah Jane, since the executives did ask Lis Sladen to return to the show with Five (she said no in favor of getting "K-9 and Company"). Also, despite my use of "/", I'd be totally happy to see friendship fic too.

Era (if any): First Doctor
Characters/Pairings (if any): David/Susan, Doctor(s)?, any other characters you want
Plot Bunny Summary: I love fairy-tale metaphors, and Susan with her one shoe at the end just cries out for a Cinderella re-telling.
Any Other Notes: In addition to all the variations of the story itself, there's also this potentially useful American (possibly other countries as well, I just heard it here) jumping rope rhyme: "Cinderella/ Dressed in yella/ Went upstairs to kiss her fella/ Made a mistake/ Kissed a snake/ How many doctors did it take?"

Mods, could I have some tags for Susan and David, please?

Era (if any): Three and/or Four
Characters/Pairings (if any): Sarah Jane, Liz, Jo, possibly Three or Four as well
Plot Bunny Summary: Like the subject line says, I just finished reading this history of Nancy Drew's authors. And it is so very, very clear to me that Sarah Jane traveled back in time to the 1920s and served as the inspiration for Nancy Drew. (Actually, now that I think about it, LIz isn't a half-bad candidate either, if you focus on the demeanor and style more than the crime-solving. So maybe Sarah Jane would be the boyish, adventurous George? And Jo totally could've been the giggly, goodhearted inspiration for Bess.)
Any Other Notes: Also, Harriet Stratemeyer (head of the syndicate that published Nancy Drew) has definite parallels to Jo Grant, with the privileged background (and accompanying blindspots) and the can-do attitude and the desire for everyone just to be nice and get along. And Mildred Wirt (the original ghostwriter) was a fiercely independent journalist, clever and proud and hard-working and filled to the brim with gumption--she basically was Sarah Jane. So maybe the story could be more linear, about Jo or Sarah meeting these women in the seventies, and being inspired by them.

This month's prompt is a slight variation on the usual randomly-selected challenges, in honour of Elisabeth Sladen.

May 2011's prompt is 'Sarah Jane Smith'.

Some specific requests were made in the discussion post - please go there for any further details. These included:

  • [livejournal.com profile] derekmetaltron: Missing scenes from any point in Sarah's life.
  • [livejournal.com profile] john_elliott: Tegan and Sarah meet again, after The Five Doctors.
  • [livejournal.com profile] persiflage_1: Highlander crossover, in which Sarah is an Immortal.
  • [livejournal.com profile] lost_spook: some of Sarah's solo-investigations pre-SJA (maybe involving other UNIT stalwarts).
  • [livejournal.com profile] azarsuerte: the Doctor taking Sarah to see those important moments in Luke's life she won't otherwise be there for.

Rules of the challenge
Fics can be as short or as long as you like. Please post wherever you wish but link back to this post via the comments (if short enough and you want, comment!fic is fine).

Bonus points for including as much of the original prompt as possible, but this is a free-for-all, so there is plenty of room for interpretation (e.g. same prompt, but variation of character etc.)

The challenge closes on Sunday 29th May.

I will post a reminder before then and there will be banners for all participants.

It has been suggested to me that the next Prompt of the Month should be Sarah-centric in honour of Elisabeth Sladen. (And how can it be that I am writing those words? It really is taking time to become at all believable...)

Looking at the current list of prompts, the only existing Sarah one is a request for Sarah and the Doctor finding an octopus in the bath. Fun as this sounds, it is probably not the prompt for the occasion.

Therefore, it is time for a discussion post.

What stories about Sarah Jane would you like to see more of, either as tribute, or just generally? Her time investigating stuff away from the TARDIS (maybe even crossing into other shows), her time aboard the TARDIS, more adventures in Bannerman Road or something else? What do people think? What sort of fic are we wanting to read right now - do we need to write it for each other and the rest of the 'fandom'?

As usual, all suggestions will be noted for future use, but in this case I'll repost all of them in a poll so that our next monthly prompt (to be up in just over a week) can be in honour of Sarah Jane Smith.

Oh thank the Lord for this particular community. You have no idea how long these poor defenceless bunnies have been in my fictional garden shed for months, begging for a kind owner to give them a web page of their own. Come on little ones, show your stuff for the nice people...

Two to start, one very cracky and the other a full-on crossover. Have some more serious ideas to put up later.

Era (if any): Third Doctor Era
Characters/Pairings (if any): Three, Master, Brigadier and other Third Doctor Characters. For pairings possibly Liz/Brig? Or Master/Anyone? (It's his dream!)
Plot Bunny Summary: The Delgado Master falls asleep watching Hana Barbara Cartoon Wacky Races whilst imprisoned by UNIT and has a really weird dream where he's Dick Dasterly, and the other racers are all other Third Doctor era characters! Most are up to you but I clearly suggest Three as Professor Pat Pending in his Whomobile, the Brigadier in the Amry Surplus Special and the glammor gal of the highway must be Josephine Grant. What Muttley would be is entirely up to you - I'm gunning for a micro sized Ogron!
Any Other Notes:  Blame this on watching an array of Wacky Races Cartoons in the summer holidays whilst in my hotel room and a strange train of thought afterwards.

#2

Era (if any): Sarah Jane Adventures (Pre K9 leaving Sarah, possibly even Post School Reunion and Pre Invasion of the Bane!)
Characters/Pairings (if any): Wallace/Sarah Jane Romance. K9/Gromit Friendship. Slitheen and Feathers Mcdraw. Optional Preston.
Plot Bunny Summary: The ultimate canine heroes of K9 and Gromit (what do you mean, what about Scooby Doo?) join forces to save their world from a deadly plot by the giggling hunters of the galaxy! And is Feather Mcdraw, crime penguin extraordiniare really an intergalactic criminal?! By heck lads, this calls for a try of the Al-ie-o Matic! And could Sarah Jane Smith have found love with Wallace's brilliant mind and love of all things cheesy? Only one way to find out...
Any Other Notes:  Had this in my head for agesssssss but never the time to write it out - the very idea appealed to me, at its heart a great light-hearted crossover and an unlikely but surprisingly sweet and logical pairing between Sarah and Wallace. I really hope someone who's a fan of both shows could really do this bunny justice, it would mean the world to me! :D

Era:Um, Sarah Jane Adventures?
Characters/Pairings (if any): Gita Chandra, other characters as you like
Plot Bunny Summary: Gita finds out about Sarah Jane's activities, and decides she wants to use Mr. Smith to sell Earth flowers to aliens on other planets.
Any Other Notes: Prompted from the thread over here on sarahjane_fic. I'd love to see Sarah accidentally coming across Gita's flower-selling alien empire, but a fic that was all about preventing Gita from her entrepreneurial aspirations would be great, too.

This post is a collection of verse-quotation prompts plus one very odd line of dialogue. I don't know if they even really fit the definition of a plot bunny (whatever that is), but here they are.
