The Inspiration of Rassilon

Two prompts this month, as a point of fact (having added in the crossover prompts, quite a few were relatively obscure, so I promised myself to pick a back-up prompt if I got one of them. And, of course, I did). So, your challenge is to write a variation on one or both of the below:

From pedanther: The Anubis Gates: Irving Braxiatel wants a copy of William Ashbless's memoirs for posterity - which entails going back, tracking Ashbless down, and persuading him to write them.

and/or

From moon_blitz: While heading back to the 21st Century, The (Simm) Master picks up an unexpected traveler (The Editor, from The Long Game).


Rules of the challenge
Fics can be as short or as long as you like. Please post wherever you wish but link back to this post via the comnents (if short enough and you want, comment!fic is fine). Bonus points for including as much of the original prompt as possible, but this is a free-for-all, so there is plenty of room for interpretation (e.g. same prompt, but variation of character etc).

The challenge closes on Sunday 3rd October.

I will post a reminder before then.
