Let's Talk About Six...

I think we last had a discussion post in June, so we're well overdue for another. (As ever, if anyone else wants to start one, go right ahead.)


I commented in previous discussion posts that One and Two lagged behind the other Doctors in terms of stories on Teaspoon, but that just isn’t true anymore… it’s Six that’s now possibly the least-written Doctor. Funnily enough, I was thinking we should talk Six next anyhow…

While Six’s isn’t my favourite era on TV, there’s still plenty I like about it (and him), and some fun characters introduced (The Rani, Sil, Glitz), the audios and comics gave us Evelyn and Frobisher among others, and he’s wonderfully technicoloured. Personally, I always find writing Six is the most fun a person can have doing fanfic. He’s loud, loves cats and words and he’s very much the Doctor whether you like it or not.

So what Six-era stories would people like to see? Any crossovers that would work best with him? One-off characters or companions you feel should be explored further? Something else?

I've read that. It's one of the Make Your Own Adventure With Doctor Who books, so it's not canon or anything - which is just as well, because as a serious Doctor Who adventure it rates somewhere in the vicinity of the old TV Comic stuff. It never does explain what Turlough's doing travelling with Six - I kind of got the impression that the author had written it for Five, and then there was some hurried rewriting so that all the MYOA books would have Six.

i won't see it out then (which is a shame because i do like the idea of that team tardis - mind you, perhaps it's just a bunny in need of some fic... this is why and how turlough came back etc etc). choose your own adventures books always sound exciting, but in reality i get killed every time, and have to go looking for the correct solution...

:lol: Not all that on-topic, but I used to have that problem with Choose Your Own Adventure books, too! There was one about spies and I never made it more than 4 entries without dying. I was convinced it was just an evil joke on the part of the writers & there was no way out.
