And if anyone knows a cunning way round LJ's horrible default for this comm, I might be able to stay more up to date. (It's so slow on my computer, I give up before I start.)

Can you change the comm theme? There are certain themes - I can look up the info if I need to - that still act like the old setup. (I see you've got one of them on your own LJ.) Or you can cunningly put "?style=mine" without quotes on the end of a URL and it will load looking like your journal. :D I use that a lot.

The comm theme *is* currently on the only one with the option to alter to view in old style. It didn't work. :-( And once the default changed, trying to enable customised comments on any layouts, even those that I know do work elsewhere, simply doesn't work. I wondered if anyone had any css, because I've seen some things change back. And I can view in my style, but the default still seems to be running slowly underneath what I'm seeing, although it will let me use subject headings and customised layouts. Everything is enough of an effort already at the moment, so the extra time it takes to do anything on here, leads to me neglecting the comm. If I can't change it, I can only think of restarting it (because you can happily set up new comms with the customed comments on) or handing it over to someone who doesn't have this problem. Or maybe I'll be better enough for it not to matter soon. Even just typing in the comment box is irritatingly slow, though.

(I'm frustrated by it, can you tell? Usually LJ fail and then sheepishly mend things, but they seem to be being stubborn about this one. And I don't want to view everything in my style, anyway. One of the things I enjoy about LJ is seeing the different layouts that everybody uses.)

I wrote a fic for this prompt: Fifth Doctor: AU Castrovalva: Nyssa is kidnapped by the Master instead of Adric, but something happens during the Master's TARDIS flight to Castrovalva causing a emergency landing and they are trapped together in a dangerous environment. Nyssa has the opportunity to face the man who took her father's life, caused her home planet's destruction and whose very appearance is a terrible reminder of that fact. Will she do something she might regret?

And, yes, LJ does that a lot when there are links in comments - if you commented to the original post before, I wouldn't have seen it to unscreen it, because it was somebody else's prompt. I should be able to unscreen and sort it, if it's in a post I made. (That's why I need notification as well as a comment to the ideas post. Well, unless it was my ideas post, of course!)

Hello!

This isn't in response to earlier prompts but I've never had a plot bunny bite me this hard before and this is the only place I can think to leave it. It's kind of crackish and came up after watching Matilda the Musical in London.

In all three versions of Matilda-book,movie,musical-at the end, Matilda's parents have to leave in a hurry, and Matilda ends the book leaving with Miss Honey. My thought was, what if instead of dodgy business dealings/the mob/whatever that caused them to leave, the Doctor had a hand in that instead.

Double points if there's a scene with him and Matilda.

Triple extra points if it's the Seventh Doctor, who I had in mind.

So yeah, totally nuts, but there you go.

That way more people will see it & you'll get more chance of someone picking it up & writing it. If you really don't want to, I'll just add it to the list of prompts from here, but usually new prompts go in their own posts. (If you browse back on the comm, you'll see those from other people). :-)

(It's probably just not as obvious from the last few entries, because it's been rather quiet here for a while - mostly my fault as rl has been eating into my modly abilities lately.)
